This road bridge over the River Ribble was constructed in 1759. It consists of five main segmental arches, plus another on the far bank which carries the approach road from Preston at an angle to the main structure. The lamps standards are fairly recent additions, although a single gas lamp standard did stand for many years at the centre of the bridge. The bridge is now restricted to pedestrian traffic.
