Sheep in the shade

Image: © Derek Harper Taken: 23 Aug 2007

Not a common sight this summer. Taken beside the stile where Hatherleigh Footpath 5 enters the field, which, for much of its margin, has a rounded boundary. This landscape north of the Pulworthy Brook is characterised by unusual and often rounded fields, suggesting a long history.
