One of Edinburgh's many surprises. Once Moray House Halls of Residence until 2004, when they were converted into flats. They were conceived in 1913 by the Edinburgh Association for the Provision of Hostels for Women Students. In the Lorimer Arts & Crafts style, the first three blocks were completed in 1916/7. They were built on 7.7ha of land which cost £10707-1s, which had been part of a golf course.
