Carved stone post by the A4, in parish of THATCHAM (WEST BERKSHIRE District), Benham Hill; by No. 216, East of Pound Lane junction, on well kept grass verge by garden, on South side of road. Bath Road limestone shoulders, erected by the Speenhamland to Reading turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : To / NEWBURY / 2 : : To / LONDON / 54 : : To / READING / 15 : Grade II Listed.
