Cast iron post by the B5139, in parish of HOYLAKE (WIRRAL District), Corner of Woodlands Road, in pavement back to brick wall, beside road sign, on South West side of road. Cast iron CCC1898, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : GRANGE CORNER / ¾ MILE : : CHESHIRE / 1898 / COUNTY COUNCIL : : FRANKBY / ⅔ MILE / GREASBY 1⅓ / UPTON 2½ / BIRKENHEAD / WOODSIDE / FERRY 7 : Maker:- : W H SMITH & CO / MAKER / WHITCHURCH : Milestone Society National ID: CH_BHGC07
