Cast iron post by the A556, in parish of TABLEY SUPERIOR (MACCLESFIELD District), Over Tabley, South of Church; 100m North of service station, in lay-by. Old domed open book, erected by the Cranage & Warrington turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : TO / ALTRINGHAM / 6 / MILES : : OVER TABLEY : : TO / NORTHWICH / 6½ / MILES : Milestone Society National ID: CH_ALNT06
