The present Finborough Hall was built in 1795 when the Pettiward family rebuilt the former Jacobean mansion that was destroyed by fire. It was the Pettiward family seat until 1936. During the First World War it was utilised as a Red Cross Hospital. From 1948 until 1978 the Hall was the East Anglian Group Headquarters of Eastern Electricity and is now home to Finborough Private School.
