Jack Fuller dotted his estate with various follies. The story is that this one was erected hastily, before being called to account, after he had made a bet that he could see the spire of Dallington church from his house, then found he could not. This was to simulate the spire seen from a distance, but the direction, although roughly right, is not exact. A grade II*(star) listed building, early 19th century.
