View west from the level-crossing of what remains of a formerly much larger station and important ex-GER junction. March remains on the Cambridge (formerly also via St Ives) - Ely - Peterborough main line. Branching to the right is the east loop of the former GN&GE Joint main line to Spalding, Sleaford, Lincoln and Doncaster. After meeting a west loop from the Peterborough line, from this branch the mothballed line to Wisbech and King's Lynn and the entry to the small remains of Whitemoor Marshalling Yard, the largest in Britain - formerly also accessed from the north off the Spalding line. Lines closed include: St Ives 3/67, Wisbech and King's Lynn 9/68, Spalding 11/82.
