Note the original Sir Basil Spence front façade which is now indoors in what is T1 check-in. The airport has changed considerably due to expansion since it opened in 1966. The original Sir Basil Spence designed terminal building is now almost completely absorbed within a cluster of extensions and additions, but traces of it can still be seen if you look carefully.
