View eastward, towards Scarborough, on the former Down platform, the only one left after the drastic rationalisation of the station in 1989. This is the main line from York to Scarborough, formerly to Whitby also and branches to Driffield and from Gilling - see my Image for details. [Note the photographer's shadow].
