The Swan, Churchgate

The Swan public house, at the corner of Churchgate and Bradshawgate Image was an old coaching house dating back to the 17th century. The Manchester Mail Coach used to run from here. It is Grade II listed and has had a variety of different owners since the 1900s including the Crown brewery, Bass, Ratcliff and Gretton and Burtonwood Brewery. On the right is the Market Cross Image
