In Victorian times #12 Churchgate was Smokey Joe's, a Temperance Bar, then in the 1940s a Coffee Bar, subsequently a Chinese restaurant, and now a shop - Ye Olde Wench & Trinkets. It was acquired in 2007 by John Jewitt the licensee of Ye Olde Man & Scythe Image and turned into a jewellery and gift shop with a specialist corner for clairvoyants and their fans. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/915119.Find_out_what_the_future_holds__down_the_pub_/ In contrast on the left is The Venue Image
