The 18th hole shares a very wide fairway with the 1st hole (Burn). The famous Swilken Bridge is in the foreground. The 2 buildings in the background are the Old Course Clubhouse (left) and Hamilton Hall (University of St Andrews) (right). Between and just behind the 2 buildings is the Martyrs’ Monument, which was built to commemorate a number of Protestant figures who were martyred in St Andrews between 1520 and 1560.
