As Humber Street became the location of the city’s fruit market, No.64 Humber Street was built specifically as a warehouse in 1948, replacing the former bomb-damaged building. From then until 2009 the site was used solely for the fruit trade, with fruit sold downstairs and banana ripening rooms situated upstairs. The building has been converted and reopened as Humber Street Gallery, a venue combining a café/bar and rooftop cocktail lounge. The gallery utilises three floors, and is hosting several exhibitions during Hull City of Culture 2017: http://www.humberstreetgallery.co.uk/
