This is my favourite shop for many reasons. We travelled to my grandma in Ilford until she died in 1975, and while we waited to turn right into Wood Street stopped outside this shop. Being a young child looking at a shop full of toilets was one of the funniest things I could see, and this is one of the few places still standing from my life then and always reminds me of the old days when I pass it now. I can remember the entire route from Finchley and the old industrial estate on Broad Lane is long gone with the Gestetner and Lebus factories.
