Larks Wood is a remnant of the same ancestral woodland as Epping Forest. old maps showing that they became separated at least 35 years ago. The wood is located on two hillocks rising to over 150 feet above sea level, or about 80 feet above the surrounding land. This is along the western edge behind the back gardens of the houses in Underwood Road.
