There are so many present and former railway lines in this area that it's still useful to refer to them by former railway companies. This is the LMS route from Manchester via Huddersfield. The contemporary train in the photo is a TransPennine Express service, probably the 16.38 Hull to Manchester. Photo taken from the public footpath bridge at Wortley shown in Image, looking north.
