The town sign shows a steam locomotive, a canal boat and a bridge, coal mine winding gear, coke ovens (I think), other industry, trees, and above those the knot emblem of Staffordshire: "The Knot Unites". The shop sign is for Farm Foods. Silver Street is a turning off the High Street, A452.
