Riverside vegetation creeps up the walls of these former woollen mills along the banks of the River Calder and the B6114 Saddleworth Road. The mill to the left with the corrugated stair housing and overbridge is Exchange Mill, the single floor mill between the chimneys is Calderbank Mill whilst the building further upstream is Castle Mill.
