Above Preston Brook tunnel

As the towpath rises above the tunnel one can see that the tunnel entrance is only just below the surface. It goes through a bigger hill beyond though. The towpath follows a path over the hill. In working days, the horses would have been led over the top whilst the boatman legged through the tunnel.
