This simple building was brought to Sole Street by train in kit form and opened in 1889. It was needed because a sizeable population had grown around the station (opened in 1861) and the church at Cobham was some distance away. In fact nowadays Sole Street is larger than Cobham but this remains the only community facility. Although it was modernised sometime in the 1940s or 50s it is in desperate need of further renovation and there is a campaign to raise funds. The green notice gives the times of services.
