George Square is the open space outside Huddersfield station, and has been largely pedestrianised in recent years. Many of the buildings around it are grade 1 or 2* listed, including the Lion Building seen here, listed grade 2* (list entry 1134167) built 1853 by J P Pritchett who also designed the station.
