Viewed from the corner of Station Hill and Court Road. Bridgend is on the South Wales Main Line, roughly midway between Cardiff Central station and Swansea station. Bridgend is where the Maesteg branch line diverges from the South Wales Main Line, and is the western terminus of the Vale of Glamorgan Line from Cardiff via Barry, Rhoose and Llantwit Major. In 2017 Bridgend is the fifth busiest railway station in Wales, after Cardiff Central, Cardiff Queen Street, Newport and Swansea.
