The three storey white building with the ground floor now an Indian Restaurant was the original premises for W W Winter the photographers, who have been in continuous business since approx 1852. The original company was called E N Charles but was taken on by W W Winter when Mr. Charles died. They moved several years later directly across the road to a custom designed studio, where they are still trading.
