Plaque on commemorative obelisk, Caffamill Pill, Fowey

As the text of the plaque indicates, the obelisk seen at Image originally stood on Albert Quay, marking the arrival there of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1846. (A plaque still commemorates this: see Image) Later thrown into the harbour, it was recovered and erected here in 1977 to mark Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee and remember her visit to Fowey in 1962.
