This public house opened in 1890 and in its early days was known as the Warren Arms. On Tuesday the 22 December 1903, James Parker Mickleburgh, who was the proprietor from 1897 to 1903, was charged a fine of £2 and £6 8s 6d costs for diluting the beer he sold.
