The Thirsk Premier Inn [which is actually in Sowerby] opened in February 2017 and is part of the rapid development either side of Topcliffe Road. The design looks to be the same as a hundred other Premier Inns. In the background can be seen the steel skeleton of another large building under construction, local gossip suggesting that it may be a new ALDI supermarket.
