This residential street has been severed at this point since the 1980s when the dual carriageway was put through, linking the main A338 with Christchurch Road. The dual carriageway swings from our left to continue behind us, and is called St. Swithun's Road South. See Image for more discussion - it is taken from midway along the road ahead.
