Initially a primary school opened in September 2015 using the former leisure centre (in the background), further construction work was taking place on the school site in 2017 as part of a £10.7 million development to make it a through school for ages 5-18 and provide "classrooms and science labs, kitchens and dining areas, sports halls, a library, meeting spaces, a drama studio, offices, computer rooms, technology rooms, art studios, playgrounds and sports pitches" (from the school website).
