This is a landmark building on Hunslet Road, the manufacturing firm of TF & JH Braime Ltd. The company was founded in 1888 and is still in business. This family-run firm is looking to move to more modern and cost-effective premises but still in the local area so it can continue manufacturing steel presses for the automotive and white goods industries. And it is looking to sell its present premises for development being as it is situated in what's known as "The Hunslet corridor", a booming area which includes high-rise offices, apartment blocks and retail and commercial outlets. Leeds planners have yet to grant permission for any redevelopment of the Braime site, the idea is for residential and commercial use, but company bosses have had talks with council officers and representatives of English Heritage. I once had the privilege of entering these premises and it was like entering a time warp.
