It marks the grave of RAF Cadet Jack Murton, who was killed on active duty on 21 August 1941, aged only 21 > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5294443. Located on the west side of Norwich Road, Aylsham Cemetery is a traditional Victorian burial ground lined by yew trees at the entrance. The more recent burials are located at the rear of the site, which is bounded by allotments and council houses in the south-west.
