This hawthorn tree has become a memorial for Nicola Fellows and Karen Hadaway, nine year old girls who were found murdered near here in Brighton Wild Park on October 10th 1986. Local people continue to decorate and re-decorate the tree with pictures of the girls, trinkets, lanterns, flowers, cards and messages.
