The famous Odeon Cinema (neé Paramount, 1930) on Oxford Road is coming to an inglorious end, having failed to be listed and now due for demolition. (Its great Wurlitzer Organ was long ago moved to the Free Trade Hall and then - escaping further demolition - to Stockport Town Hall.)
