A house stood at this location at least since the second half of the 18th century. In the late 18th century a couple of market gardeners lived here and in the 1920s the location was known as Shreeve's Farm, named after its fruit grower occupants. Nowadays the house, which has since then been modified and enlarged, is known as Appletree Farmhouse. (This picture was taken by kind permission of the owner.)
