This Victorian railway hotel, designed by Charles Trubshaw, first opened in 1890. To the rear is the now much-diminished Forster Square station, once the Midland Railway's base in the city. Since 1998 the hotel has been owned by Peel Hotels and it has 90 bedrooms.
