View eastward along a metalled stretch at the eastern end of the Berkshire Ridgeway. The alignment of the ancient trackway runs along the valley floor, between Thurle Down (to the north) and Lough Down. The conifers are in the grounds of Thurle Grange, while the entrance in the right foreground leads to a livery yard. What was the original purpose of the rambling (but rather austere) redbrick buildings on the left?
