Taken from a scanned photograph at the time. End of Thursday, 23 August 1990 - day 1 - India 1st innings 324/4 (RJ Shastri 135*, M Prabhakar 20*) Ultimately to become, at the time, the highest score by India against England. 606 - 9 wickets declared at 173 overs. Shastri, as man of the match, scored 187 whilst Kapil Dev batting at 8 scored 110. England replied with 340 all out after 123.4 overs. England 2nd innings, following on, scored 477-4 wickets declared at 154 overs. David Gower made 157 not out. Match drawn England won the 3-match series 1-0
