These exposed sandrocks with waterfall and pool is where the stream in the Marline Valley has cut back over the centuries. Such places with their shady, damp atmosphere are important for flora and fauna that is otherwise scarce in south east England. The Marline Valley Nature Reserve is managed by the Sussex Wildlife Trust.
