When I came upon this road sign to Civray, I found myself rubbing my eyes in astonishment, as it is quite clear that this road sign is French (from the font used, as well as the colour of the sign). I wonder how many other signs in England there are like this, and how many have their distances specified in kilometres rather than miles? Civray is, by the way, unsurprisingly the twin town of Downham Market!
