The Main Street seen from west of the junction to Ingleton, taken when I had a summer job at George Angus & Co., manufacturers of fire hoses at their factory close by in Station Road. There are several period details such as the blue Players and yellow Capstan cigarettes signs, the K Shoes sign and the vehicles - Bedford van, Ford Consul Classic and the little grey Mini van. The two gents posing by the Ford were colleagues in the testing department where hose samples were checked for abrasion resistance and bursting pressure - that was the exciting part!
