Once this monument stood in the very heart of Sheffield, close to The Town Hall. It was unveiled on May 11th 1905 by Princess Beatrice of Battenberg. However, it was moved to its present location in 1930 - only twenty five years after its erection. It was designed by Alfred Turner (1874-1940).
