I can't remember why this apparent novice hire boat helmsman has done this. The overflow from the lock should be pushing him across towards the towpath! On second thoughts, maybe he is trying to keep out of my way and has overdone it. We were about fifty yards away. This lock allows a six foot rise (about 1·8 metres) on the route to Whitchurch, Ellesmere and Llangollen.
