This was the building in and around which the massacre of November 1983 took place. It was replaced by the adjoining new church building in 1990. Mountain Lodge Church was formed in the 1950s by Thomas John Hunniford a farmer who had purchased the Mountain Lodge Estate. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darkley_killings
