Seen from the bridge carrying the continuation of Church Street over the infant River Avon. The Avon begins as two separate rivers with the eastern Avon rising just east of Pewsey adjacent to the Kennet and Avon Canal. The two merge at Upavon, flowing southwards across Salisbury Plain then along the western edge of the New Forest and meets up with the River Stour at Christchurch, to flow into Christchurch Harbour.
