The inscription on this brass tablet on the south wall of Christ Church reads: To the Glory of God AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE Reverend Walter Thompson THE FIRST RECTOR OF THIS PARISH 1882 - 1908. THIS TABLET IS ERECTED BY PARISHIONERS AND FRIENDS. December 1912.
