A house on the Hesslewood Estate existed in 1716 and was leased to Robert Pease in 1749. Joseph Robinson Pease (1752-1807) inherited the estate in 1778 and, in 1784-91, he rebuilt Hesslewood House (also known as Hesslewood Hall), the house we see today. In 1920 the house became an orphanage, after 1985 a hotel, later a residential home and, today the Hesslewood Office Park. Depicted is the rear of the house, used as a business centre.
