From Quay Street along Womanby Street towards Castle Street. According to one online source, this is the only Womanby (street or road or avenue etc) in the UK. The Cardiff History website states that the first recorded use of anything close to Womanby Street appears in 1550 when the street is referred to as Whomanby Street, though in the same year it is also referred to as Hunmanby which may be a corruption of the Norse houndemanneby (hunter's or houndsman's home or dwelling).
