Currently a vacant plot awaiting development. The plot was first developed in 1904 when a four terraced block called The Lawns was constructed but when these proved too expensive to sell they were converted into the Sackville Court Hotel in 1926. The hotel was popular for many years though decline set in during the 1980s and ownership changed hands a number of times during which the building began to deteriorate. By the turn of the century the council were using it as accommodation for the homeless. However, a new set of owners took on the building in the hope of restoring it and reopening as a new Five Star hotel. Unfortunately, whilst the building was undergoing renovation the roof collapsed taking out two floors in the process. Further high winds made the remaining structure unsafe and the decision was taken to demolish the building in 2006. Since then a decade of failed planning applications has followed and the site remains a vacant plot.
