This waterfall is rather tucked away within St Gwynno's Forest but worth the ten minute walk from the roadside to reach it - at least when in decent flow. It was on the occasion of my visit since the water was pouring heavily directly from the sky too! The waters of the Sychnant are seen here streaming down arenites (sandstone in lay terms) known as the Hughes Member of the Pennant Sandstone Formation. The face of the fall is quite possibly the Cwmneol Fault which downthrows the rocks to the northeast.
